After a life-changing win of £450,000, Syedun Nessa has now seen the £600,000 Dream Home she turned down — and the moment was just as emotional as the night everything changed.
The London-based mum of two, who won our Dream Home competition after entering with just £5.97, recently visited the stunning property she had the option to call her own.
And seeing it in person?
It made everything feel real all over again.
“At first, it didn’t feel real…”
When Syedun picked up the phone, she had no idea she had just won our £600,000 Dream Home competition.
Her partner had just got home, and like most people would, his first reaction was disbelief.
“Surely this can’t be real…”
But within minutes, it started to sink in. This wasn’t a mistake. It was real.
They had just won either a £600,000 dream home… or £450,000 in cash.

All from answering one phone call she would normally ignore.

Walking through the doors of the home for the first time, Syedun and her partner were able to take in what could have been, a spacious, high-end property in Wales, designed for a completely different lifestyle.
From the open-plan living spaces to the peaceful surroundings, it was everything you’d expect from a dream home.
Now, standing inside the home, they could fully appreciate the scale of what they had won… and what they had chosen instead.
But for Syedun, the visit only reinforced their choice.
“It’s absolutely beautiful… but we made the right decision for our family,” she said.

Since the win, life has been very different.
The £450,000 has given Syedun and her family the opportunity to think bigger, whether that’s moving to a larger home, giving their children more space, or creating long-term security.
And while the house is incredible, the impact of the cash has already been life-changing.
“I have never seen so much money in my life,” she said.
From a London Apartment to New Possibilities
Currently living in a London apartment, where space is limited for their growing family, the win has opened up options they never thought possible.
Their eldest daughter, Maria, is the only one with her own bedroom, something they’re now hoping to change.
The visit to the Dream Home gave them a glimpse of what that space could look like.
But more importantly, it showed them what’s now within reach.
